Page 1 of 7 Online communityWell now, again I have to note that it has been a long time since the last newsletter. The website has been completely redesigned and a better system put in for managing the newsletters. It took a while to get this right, but I hope you agree that it was worth the wait. Gideon has done a great job in making the site interactive. As a subscriber to the newsletter you can log in to the site and use the interactive member’s pages. Someone mentioned that it will be great to establish a virtual community, ideal for Aspies, and which is the step before the creation of a real physical community, and it’s true. Please have a look at the community home page and wander round the site and add your comments – these things only work if people use them, and one idea will spark off others, and we can all contribute to the growth of this community (Aspies and the rest of us, of course – we all share a common interest). Now have a look inside this edition to see the successes that people are having – it is too rare for Asperger’s Syndrome to be associated with success. See what The Mastery is, how we have had a world first doing something that should not be possible with people with Asperger’s. Have a look at our plans for the rest of the year and join me in thinking about the nature of this condition from a new angle and share some of my experience so you can be reminded how often people with Asperger’s are denied effective support. |
